If you had the game installed before with previous guide, you can still use this patcher, because it works for all versions.

If your game lags, try switching video options to low/try closing all unused programs, like uTorrent, internet, skype, etc./try to join low ping servers/if none of those work, probably your computer is not so good to handle the game.

If you have random game freezes, open console and type "mat_queue_mode 0″. It will help to disable multi-core for the game.

If you want to join any server by ip, open console and write "connect serverip", example "connect 122.144.2.12:27015". But you can only join servers with the same version of L4D what you have. To check which version you have write in console 'version'.

If you want to change your name, change PlayerName in rev.ini file in L4D folder, but when you're installing 1.0.1.4. patch, after installation you get the same rev.ini file where you can change name.

If you're hearing weird sounds when you're close to fire - rain or anything else, rebuild your sound cache, open console and type "snd_rebuildaudiocache".

If you want to make server open console with "`" and write "map l4d", and choose map you want. To change difficulty/kick players etc. press esc. and there's "call a vote" menu.
